The pedals are not overhyped - they are overprized because their business model is just awful. The products are very good but they just milk every drop of the hobbyist-cow. I'm speaking as a heavy user of their plugins. I think they are just the best out there. It's the only company I hate although I love their products. damn, I've seen synths use some crazy built in sound sources but this is one of the coolest. I love that you can physically see it. I find these kinds of sound generators a bit more interesting than traditional analogue synths; just something organic about a slightly unpredictable physical process happening that hits a spot...
